LAG is pleased to present \u201cfar away \u2014 Beyond Two Forests,\u201d a solo exhibition by 8-year-old artist ShuShiro, from Saturday, August 23 to Saturday, September 6. This exhibition is both a publication event celebrating the release of the new art book far away (printed by LiveArtBooks) and the second chapter following the show held in July at Koichi Yamamura Gallery, now featuring a new body of work. <\/p>\n

Delicate and, at times, bold. The animals and plants rendered in ShuShiro\u2019s rhythmic and distinctive brushwork are born from the young artist\u2019s daily observations and boundless curiosity. Each work carries no fixed story, and yet it is precisely this openness that awakens memories and imagination unique to each viewer. <\/p>\n

At LAG, we have created a space where visitors can fully experience the depth of ShuShiro\u2019s world through both paintings and the art book. We invite you to spend time with the works and discover your own landscapes and moments within them. <\/p>\n

Shu Shiro\u2019s exhibition, \u201cfar away\u201d is an invitation to explore distant realms and unknown worlds. The title embodies curiosity about far-off places and the freedom of imagination. For Shu Shiro, painting and weaving stories mean stepping outside one\u2019s own world and embarking on a journey to the \u201cfaraway places\u201d within the heart. <\/em><\/p>\n

\nShu Shiro<\/b> <\/p>\n

Born in August 2016, this young artist began sharing artwork on Instagram at age five with support from Shu Shiro\u2019s mother. Drawing daily before and after school, their work expresses honest joy in everyday life, not just talent. Alongside paintings, Shu Shiro share heartfelt poems. Winning the 2022 Hoshino Coffee painting contest led to commissions from companies and restaurants. Shu Shiro colorful, innocent art brings warmth to many. In 2024, their Threads posts reached 50 million views, and a calendar sold out 1,200 copies in one week. <\/p>\n
