While he focuses on creating ceramics, there are no obvious boundaries be-tween the expressions, and he has created unique works with a consistent attitude of moving his hands purely.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u201cWhen human beings create a certain form out of randomness, it seems to me that there are some commonalities from ancient times to the present day. From the past to the present, and into the future, the way people live will change in various ways, however, I would like to continue to create while being involved in something that will never change.\u201d *1<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAlthough he content above he was saying about 50 years ago, his creating attitude of incorporating randomness while always keeping his eyes on universality has remained unchanged today. The works he has produced tell us what is the essence while refusing easy-to-understand verbalization or categorization.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThis exhibition will feature large, medium, and small round vases, as well as calligraphy. Some paintings were created in the 1970s, and others in different eras will be also displayed. He began creating ceramic works self-taught in 1971. In 1972, he purchased a plot of land deep in the hills above the city of Nara in Mima, Nara Prefecture, to self-build all things, a house, a Japanese-style tearoom, a kiln, and a workspace. Mainly focusing on pottery, he also creates paintings, calligraphy, and other works. A lot of his works are owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and many other museums in Europe and the United States. He also exhibits his works in museums and galleries in London, New York, Paris, and other countries.  There are many of his collectors around the world.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n[<strong>Artist Biography<\/strong>]<br \/>\n1947 Born in Nara Prefecture.<br \/>\n1965 Decided to pursue a career as an artist. Trained himself at a Zen temple.<br \/>\n1970 Established his residence and built kilns in Mima, Nara.<br \/>\n1977\u2013 Held the first solo exhibition in Mima.
